Segregation & Treatment of Sectional Waste Streams

We prioritize the segregation and treatment of waste generated during our production processes. By categorizing waste into different streams, we ensure that each type is treated appropriately, reducing overall environmental impact and enhancing recycling efforts. The following streams are segregated and treated separately:

  • High TDS water – Soak liquor
  • Chrome liquor
  • All other combined effluent
  • Segregation of sammying liquor to CRU

Chilled Hides Processing

Implementing chilled hides processing helps us maintain the quality of raw materials while significantly reducing water consumption and waste generation. This method also minimizes the use of chemicals, contributing to a more sustainable production process.

  • For every tonne of raw hides, this method saves salt discharge of minimum of 3000 kg into environment.
  • TDS reduction by 50% in overall effluent

Installing Water Savers for Fleshing Machines

We have installed water-saving devices on our fleshing machines to reduce water usage. These devices optimize water flow, ensuring that we use only the necessary amount for processing, thereby conserving this vital resource.

  • Consists of the solenoid valve, relay, limit switch, butterfly valves
  • Machine idle time: 40%
  • Savings in water: 40%, 2 KL/tonne of raw material

Water Measurement

Accurate water measurement is crucial for effective water management. We employ advanced water measurement techniques to monitor usage throughout our facilities. This allows us to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to reduce water consumption.

  • Electromagnetic flow meters with batching control for measuring flow of water automatically
  • Soaking and liming are in drums to reduce water consumption
  • Reduction of water by 20%
